As you can see, I don't have to get back on Route 50 at all after North Bend. So I think I'll probably pass on your more northern route. But thanks for giving it some more thought.

( I had PM'd this
alternate route at the Indiana border to Rob. It adds miles, but is scenic and has little traffic. It's hard to say if that alternate route is worth doing.)
There's a pair of steep climbs at the start of your route. The second, at mile 6, is 275 feet, 8% average, max 12% (but ridewithgps sometimes underestimates short, steep climbs.) Low gears are good! The
Strava segment says it's more like 14-15% in the middle, but those are from rider recordings, and not always accurate.
I like planning ride routes, and around SW Ohio, there seems to be one or two steep climbs along the way on any good route. Roads go straight up the hill around here.

SW Ohio route
I found your
SW Ohio route. Going through Yellow Springs is a good idea. Yellow Springs is a fun little college town, with a lot of restaurants. I haven't been on the trail from London to Xenia, but I think it basically parallels the highway, through farm fields. Not all that interesting.
Xenia has a re-created train station at the
hub of all the bike paths. Nice bathrooms and there are picnic tables.
