You probably have the infamous High-Normal front derailleur that Fuji installed on most of their bikes in the 80's. It's so misunderstood. People jack those things up and, well it's not pretty. I know I have a picture somewhere that shows exactly how the cable is attached. But this is the only thing I can find right now. The cable sheath lands directly on the FD.
