Labor saving tip for your next repaint: if the base paint is in good shape (ie. not peeling or flaking off) just clean it real well, scuff sand it, sand smooth all the chipped areas, wipe clean with thinner and prime. If you're going to prime any way, stripping is an optional step, and usually a lot more work than just smooth sanding.
