ISTR the geometry is the same as (or very close to) Nuovo Record. I've never heard of that being used successfully in an indexed shifting setup. You could try, but don't be surprised if it's a miserable failure.

Why not just try a set of SunTour Power Shifters (which came in four setups, handlebar, stem, downtube, bar end), or the current Dia-Compe ENE (downtube or bar end)?
