How about a pic of that 7-sp rear and that R Ergo 7-sp shifter?

Given the inconsistencies, something is amiss.
It may be 8 speed Ergo and they are not using the last click. As stated earlier, I think the Ergo is an upgrade as 7 speed Chorus would be correct for Miyata's 1990 custom package.
