If I had Tiagra with indicators and saw this, I think that I'd mess with it some to see if there was some easy way to seal it. Water inside the indicator would probably bug me.

I can sympathize with the seat clamp bolt also. Yeah don't tighten it so much, but I've snapped them myself (who hasn't) and then grumbled about soft steel. I'm inclined to cut OP some slack.
