I think the east side has a lot of interesting stuff but to me the real beauty is in the west. That's just me...I grew up visiting the Himalayan foothills each year so the mountains draw me to them.
We were surprised when we visited Denver for the job interview. Did some house shopping & it was more expensive than we thought it would be. And more traffic than we imagined. Beautiful place but it did not seem too much better from a cost of living perspective than LA. And the job offer wasn't as good. Why? They actually told me it was because you "get to live in Colorado". Lol.
