I am looking to put a new chain on my '85 Schwinn Voyageur SP. It has a triple crank in the front and a 5-speed freewheel in the back.

I have a spare SRAM PC 850 chain that should work with 6/7/8 speeds, but what about a 5 speed? If so, what is the rule for 5 speed chains? Will any chain listed as 8-speed work for 5-8 speed?
