When trying to click in an 8 month old cleat to the pedal it will partially engage then pop loose. I've been rough on the cleats. Most of the yellow is gone from parts of the tips.

I can't engage it by hand when stopped either. I can't engage the cleat that is working properly by hand either.

Is it a safe assumption that the cleat is worn out?
