I have an entire cottered two-chainring crankset from a Falcon 10-speed bike. I don't know if the spindle has the same dimensions. Perhaps not, but maybe it would work anyway.
I had to go to Long Island today so I stopped by my go-to shop and got lucky - sourced a NOS spindle and heron chainwheel. The new one is 44T and the old one had 46T. I've already got a larger cog on the hub but I don't think my wife will mind the lowered gear ratio.
