Hi Everybody!
As the title says, I just completed a four year project. I designed and built a carbon fiber monocoque frame and would like to show it to a group of folks that are interested in that kind of thing.
I'm 45 years old, and have been "behind bars" since I taught myself to ride a bike at 7 years old. My older brother rode everywhere, and I wanted to go along, so I figured if he could do it, so could I!
I was into BMX and "Freestylin" back in the 80's - we built our own quarter pipe. Then I got into mountain biking and enjoyed the trails around Austin on a Stumpjumper. About the same time I bought a brand-new Peugeot and was amazed at how fast high-pressure tires were! I've tried my hand at Observed Trials, though I just used my Stumpjumper. I'd love to have a dedicated bike for that!!
I've designed and built a log home, a bakery, countless wedding cakes, hot rods and related hot rod wall art, furniture, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. I just love to MAKE STUFF!
Well, hot rods are too expensive, so my wife suggested I build a bike. Being a sculptor, I knew I didn't want to build a traditional double triangle frame. So, I came up with a plan and executed it.
If you're interested in seeing a little about the build and the finished bike, I put together a blog at
exerciseyourdemons.blogspot.com. I'm interested in hearing what folks have to say. Questions are welcome, but it may take a day or two for me to get back to you.
Hope to meet some new friends on here.
