My city (Burlington,Ontario) has done quite a bit to add in bike lanes which is great. The odd thing is that it doesn't seem to follow any rhyme or reason. They seem to have spent an extravagant amount of money to add in bikes lanes for a 1/4 mile stretch that is the best lanes in the city. The thing is - the past 2 days I have had issues with drivers immediately following that stretch where the bikers are abandoned and left with some of the worst spots in the city. Why would you put in so much effort to direct cyclists to their death?(sarcasm as I have obviously not died) O well.... Several pleasant miles along a MUP at a slow pace (feeling sick) saying hello to all the nice people, then a short couple of miles with rather ignorant drivers.... I bet the nice people along the MUP turn into their Hyde counterparts once they get in a car too. I know that sometimes happens to me.
