I happen to agree with you and believe that under normal circumstances there is no reason at all to not post your bikes on a forum dedicated to the discussion of your bikes and bikes in general.
I also believe that almost every reason put forth in this thread against posting your bikes or even the state you live in is fairly ridiculous.
Cruising an internet forum but having issue with being part of the Facebook crowd? Huh?
Theft? Are there still people on the internet that are so naive they don't understand that a 6th grader can obtain your ip address and find you within minutes with ease?
Bragging? You addressed that quite nicely when you referenced the C&V thread.
My favorite though is the ridiculous analogy about also posting how many jackets you have in your closet lol

Oops ... sorry!
Bold: yes, I know; I was just playing along and piling on

Underscored: actually, my attitude is the same as that of Chasm54 -- who cares? Post (bikes; precise location) or not -- all the same to me. What is amusing is a thread on the topic that is now into its fifth page; that is funny.
My hope is that the new 'steel vs. aluminum' thread will reach the same dizzy heights!
