Yeah, the Synthe is a bit slimmer on the sides than the POC, but both fit a bit lower and look less like a giant mushroom.
Both have a pad all the way across the front of the forehead so sweat doesn't run down the middle (the problem with my old Giro Aeon). Both fit a cap underneath quite easily. I wear a medium and both fit true to every other medium I've used. If you don't buy them on sale, I think the POC is slightly cheaper than the Synthe and is much better construction. However, you can almost always find the Synthe on sale. Mine was a discontinued color and I paid $120 last fall.
