How to spot a knock off bicycle helmet

Hello all,

I just received a helmet I ordered on ebay and I'm having my doubts after reading up counterfeits making the rounds on bike parts -
To Catch a Counterfeiter: The Sketchy World of Fake Bike Gear | Bicycling

I guess one can pretty much come to the conclusion if he/she has an original that they are comparing it to, or that they are destroying a copy of the counterfeit in question. Unfortunately I don't have that luxury. Given that alot of components are being made in China, I figured that sooner or later I'd be dealing with it. Too bad it had to be at the helmets I'm sure I must of bought Chinese products somewhere in my purchasing history, cables maybe, but wasn't that concerned until now.

So lets start real simple: Isn't there suppose to be some label on the inside of my helmet? Like a Snell Approved sticker or something? This is a Giro Livestrong helmet. The only stickers on the inside are these;

I'm hoping someone can definitely enlighten me on what exactly I should be doing on getting a protective helmet.
