Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

No one is railing on you. Disagreement is not a personal attack. No one said that the bike would collapse either.

Here's a suggestion. You've done your homework. Why don't you just buy the bike? There are posters here who have told you what a great bike the Trek 920 is. There were some fair questions raised about the amount of money you want to sink on modifications and but at the end of the day, this is your bike and your money.

This is also the umpteenth thread you've started on the same topic. Just buy the Trek 920 since that is what you want.
