I'll apologize up front because I'm sure a thread like this has to exist somewhere in the forums... I did a quick search and I didn't locate anything obvious (although my short attention span didn't let me search very deep into the pages returned).

I love travel, and specifically road trips. I'm always looking for that next road trip idea/destination. What I'd like to see in this thread are your favorite/scenic/fun bike routes. Help me plan my next trip. I'll share a couple of my favorites...

My favorite ride around my immediate area is heading from St. Paul east to Stillwater MN on the Gateway Trail and Browns Creek Trail routes. From my house it is about 18 miles to downtown Stillwater. Stillwater is a neat little town on the St. Croix Rivier (MN/WI border). Once in Stillwater, there are plenty of great roads and routes in/through/around the St. Croix river valley. I'd post pics, but I don't think my account allows it just yet.

The other route is under construction and unfortunately will probably be years before it is completed, but they are working on an ambitious trail in Northern MN following the North Shore of Lake Superior from Two Harbors to Grand Marais. years ago, I biked the route on Highway 61, but there are plenty of dangerous sections for bicyclists on that road... I still will head up there to check out the "new" trail. I may be biased, but the North Shore is one of the most beautiful spots in the country.
