I don't drink, either, except an occasional glass of wine with dinner on date nights. But I know that beer is popular and the standard tip for a bike mechanic. When I want to show my appreciation, or buy a little favor, I stop at the nearest corner store to LBS, pick up a six pack (you can recognize the good ones by price if not packaging or reputation) and deliver it with a smile.
