It was an ok bike to begin with. This was before the bottom end bikes went back to freewheels, so it has a freehub. It doesn't have a crap heavy suspension fork like similar level bike from the 00's. It's the archetypical "get an old 90's mountain bike for a commuter" bike. It would be a great beater bike to leave locked up. But three years outdoors to crack all the plastic components and rust the bearings, and needs all consumables... that sucks.
I'm guessing it's this 1997 model
