How does reporting them, give them what they want? Especially if you have photographic or video evidence of their actions, the police can at least give them a warning.
I can understand that maybe they want to get a rise out of you at the time, but if you remain calm, gather evidence, and report them, that isn't giving them what they want. I doubt if anyone wants to be visited by the police.
