I agree that Michelin and Continental (of the widely available brands) do seem to be slightly better than the generics, at least in terms of quality control. I prefer Michelin, which are usually a little lighter and more supple than comparably priced Continental tubes. Also, Michelin has non-threaded presta stems, which I slightly prefer.
