Thought I posted here.

I have a couple of coworkers I ride with. I didn't get out much last year because of weather, work, and the demise of married life so I didn't ride with them much. They escalated their riding and ride Pittsburgh to DC, , ride hundreds of miles on the Katy trail, ride Albany to Buffalo, ride 70-80 miles on the weekends now around home. I'm just not into that. 25-30 miles is a good ride to me. I don't think I could stand being in the saddle much longer than that. Still working through divorce and with 65% of my pay going towards child support and not having a place myself, I'm not interested at all in the expense of taking a week off work and traveling somewhere to ride 60 miles a day.

Thus, I usually ride alone. I started out just on the flat ART and started riding the constant hills on the road when I bought the new bike. Now that I no longer have my home out near the ART and those roads, I have much easier roads to ride. I'll be riding about 15 miles a day after work once the weather breaks (and on the rare warm days until then except having the kids those days is more important.)

I wish I could get the kids into riding. I'd ride with them every day where ever and how ever long they wanted if they would do it.
