There were no components on the frame when I got it. As you can see I am restoring it but plan to use components I have, basically Shimano 600 for the most part.
Those hearts are very neat, I wish they were more visible elsewhere on the frame! It makes sense that they are stops, the lower must be for gear cable guides.
The Olympic Royale was introduced in 1978 as a deluxe version of the Olympic 12. Basically, it was an Olympic 12 with aluminum rims versus steel and bar end shifters versus stem shifters. Like the Olympic 12, the main triangle was plain gauge CrMo with hi-tensile forks and stays. It's arguable as to whether the bicycle should be classified upper entry level or lower mid range.
