I'm pretty happy with my Berthoud fenders too. I have the 40mm version over 32mm tires and they are a bit too narrow for my liking but the miyata doesn't have room for wider ones. I had a light mounted on the front but removed it as well as the second stay so I unfortunately have an ugly hole at the tip.
