The old Carnac LeMond model had laces under a cover flap that I believe closed with Velcro. I heard it was because LeMond would not let them use his name unless the shoes had laces. I used to love that model and laces in general. My first pair of "cleats" were made by Duegi. Hand-sewn Italian leather with wooden soles and, of course, laces.
