If you are not aware of this, pre-1960s Superiors are a rather rare Schwinn. My guess is that, based on the frequency they are seen on Ebay, that significantly fewer were made than Paramounts.
I have an incomplete ladies model. It is from the late '40s to early '50s. It is kind of an odd duck in that the serial number does not match up with anything after the fire destroyed the records. The catalog scans from that era are not helpful in IDing. IIRC, the SAA-AW 3 speed hub is dated '49. The weird thing is it uses the small diameter 13/16" seatpost. But in all other aspects, it is a Superior, right down to the headbadge.
