Now that time draws near, I checked into the water taxi system that serves between the airport and Venice proper. Alilaguna runs the main lines around the island, and to and from the airport. I got an email this morning that no bicycles are permitted on their vessels. Riding from the airport seems a little intimidating but I think there must be some means of getting there over the water. One of the ferry docks is just a few blocks from our accommodation, which make it a little frustrating that the ferry (water taxi) won't take the bikes. If anyone on this forum has ridden from the airport to the island, I would be fascinated to hear about how that is. Otherwise, if there are other possibilities besides Alilaguna, I would love to hear of them. Thanks
