It does look to be a high end French model based on the components and single color paint with the raised emblem from around 1980 and looks to be basically original. Most of the US models around this time had two tone paint a model name on the top tube and some Japanese components. You may not find an exact match in the catalogs Motobecane was noted for changing components on models. I wasn't uncommon to see the two of same model same year with slightly different components.
