Even here in Bikeforums (as a whole, not just the LCF forum) each subforum has different ideas of what would be nice. The mtn bikers have visions of singletrack ... the roadies have visions of wide beautiful shoulders on all roads ...

In an ideal world, we'd all get our wishes. There would be both great singletrack and wide beautiful shoulders on all roads. But ... that's probably never going to happen. And instead we'll have to settle for a little bit of this and a little bit of that whenever the Powers-That-Be decide to toss some money around in the hopes of attaining greater public approval.
I can see why you origionally opposed the forums on defining LCF. Once I found the definition and posted it the division's became clear. Some of us became car light for no other reason than we wanted to drive less or loved cycling. But once it becomes less about what people do and more about where people live a wall goes up and common ground goes out of the door. The examples on the link I posted even mentioned some of the same places we talk about and the same issues.

Itnis hard to be inclusive when the movements that identify with LCF are so focused.
