I managed to buy the frame with the small insurance payout for my crashed BSA, which is why it's currently being used as a single speed commuter. The long-term plan has always been to gather together period parts and build it up properly... and you might have just given me the kick up the backside I need to get started.
That said, I'm still very much a cycling novice, so if you have any suggestions regarding the most correct parts to suit the frame that would be great. A restoration thread might be in order!
Just catching up on posts, just noticed the frame number. So that looks to be a 1961-62 model. Reg Collards own hand built bike had a frame number 28034. He built his bike in 1961. I know of another customer built Holdsworth no.28259 owner says was a late 1963 purchase. But I also have a Monsoon frame no.28425 dated late 1961.
I think your Hurricane is 1961-62.
