I built my first (and learned how) to save money (and also because it seemed like a cool thing to know how to do).
I build them now because I really like the process. I even have wheels for which I have no bike, no current application.
Yeah, I changed my mind, but couldn't change the poll question. It would be nice if there were a "survey" option-Have you ever built a wheel - yes or no, branches to other questions depending on your answer, then I'd run the reesults through a stats package, analyze the residuals, yada yada...
