Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...

Yes, but I have a very different Astra that has the same Tour de France decal. Mine is butted 531 and has Stronglight crank, Huret Jubilee gears, MAFAC brakes, simplex seat post.... I know models change while their names don't, but I also know some brands put words on their bikes for no apparent reason. Every Falcon says "San Remo" on it, but that's not a model name. Likewise Peugeot "Campion du Monde."

Then again, my Astra also says "de luxe" on it. So maybe OP has a "Tour de France" and I have a deluxe version of the same?

Don't get me wrong: I'm no expert, just argumentative by nature .
