I really want something I can buy/build and it will be set for 3-4 years. Im thinking disc brakes, newest light group. I dont mind spending $1200+ if it is broken down into smaller purchases from the wife. At the same time im frugal as **** and would LOVE to build something from second hand parts that were never used for $<1000.

Options? I have been a singlespeed rider for the last 5-6years, took the last 6 months off riding. I want gears on my next bike. Got into running, now I HATE running...after doing 10 miles daily. save me
