I agree that it sounds like a problem with the seat angle. I have a Surly Straggler with a Brooks B17. I have the noise slightly tilted down. I am not sure what seat post is on the LHT but mine was adjustable but it took some hits with a mallet to disengage the teeth to move it a notch or two.
