+1 get it up and running! I finally got my 1984 PH10L back up and running. I bought it new in '84 but hadn't ridden it in a LONG time as you can see by the picture I took last year:
I took it apart this winter and sanded off all the rust. Then polished up the bare metal then clear coated everything. Ended up having to replace the BB so got it re-threaded (darn frenchies) and a fresh, sealed BB put in. New cables and new wheels needed too. Here it is prior to new saddle and pedals:
After sanding off the rust, I noticed the welds are brass(?) brazed? So if all goes well this season, I plan to strip off all the paint, polish, clear coat, then put on a new set of original style decals for a unique look. Here it is as it sits today, waiting for good weather with new saddle and SPD pedals. Good luck!
