OP, since I'm from Tampa do you mind if I ask where this happened? I ride through downtown and Davis Is. during my evening rides and I'm mostly curious. As for your incident I can't really say why except some people just like to mess with other people. I had some young lady a couple of months ago yell out her car that she "...was going to shove my bike up her ass". I did not mishear it, she was right by me. I didn't react because this is just the kind of stupid thing people do to get a rise out of you.
