I volunteer at a community bike workshop. One day I was sitting eating my lunch at the side of the workshop when a man came in looking to buy a used bike. He was talking to the boss describing how his old bike, a GT LTS mtb, had been stolen months before.

As he described the bike I nearly choked on my sandwich - he was describing the bike I had bought many months ago at a local used goods store.

I felt i had to go over to him and explain the situation. He was good about it and gave me the money I had paid for the bike and, with a policeman friend of his, went to the store (with my receipt for the bike) and got his money back from them, after his friend gave them a strong warning about selling stolen goods.
