$900 asking price is pretty top of the range anyway. One has to have a pretty nice bike to start with to get up that high.
^^Exactly. I always think of projects like that as something you might do personally just because you think it'd be cool to do, certainly not with any thoughts that you'd ever recoup your investment. You build something like that knowing you'll lose a lot of money if you ever sell it. I've seen this with guitars too. Somebody will take a $125 guitar and sink a fortune in parts and labor tweaking it to perfection. And end up with really nice guitar worth $125..
