Out of curiosity, do you currently ride both fixed gear and single speed (freewheel) bikes? They are different, and to say that someone who rides an SS would be better served with some sort of multispeed fixed bike suggests a lack of understanding of why people ride SS. Granted, I would wager that SS riders are a minority of bicycle riders on BF, but that doesn't mean that they don't have reasons for their choices.

It also seems that the overwhelming majority of BMX and cruiser bikes are freewheeling SS, so are they also people who ride SS only to avoid pedaling at 200 rpm down a hill?
