1985 Pro Miyata - fastback seatstays?

I see a local CL ad for a 1985 Pro Miyata frameset that I'm interested in. Paint/chrome matches, but the bike in the ad has fastback seatstays and the seller claims it is 48cm CTC. The Miyata catalog for 1985 has the bike with dual seatstays and the smallest size at 50cm.

After Googling I see a few pics of Pros from that year with fastback seatstays. Could it be that Pro frames outside of the US were offered with fastback stays and in smaller sizes, and the catalog above is just for US export? Or is this a fake (hard to imagine somebody faking a Miyata, even if upper tier).
