https://www.facebook.com/CyberCycleCoach we go to who has hundreds of files on road cyclists. Max power averages 93ish. He has seen it from high 80s to low hundreds.
That is a reason I'm very anti junior gears. I don't think anyone has max power on the road in the range the kids are forced to pedal.
At 50/13 and 90 rpm, the kid would be going right at 27mph.
I know they claim it is to protect their legs, but why would they "need" more gears anyhow?
My 11yo managed to hit 40mph on a descent last year in a race.
I'm glad he spun out.
