Challenge tires are nice, but I don't think they come in tanwalls.

Continental Giro's are nice, and within your price range.

Conti Sprinters now start in the region of $65+.

Yellow Jersey sells tanwall tubulars under the name "servizio corse" at the price of 3/$50. They are essentially the old D'Allesandro/Clement tubulars from about 15-20 years ago. Removable cores, decent construction, nice ride, good grip.
The garden hose comment made me laugh.

These are the Challeng tires I was referring to.

You do like the Giro's? I could always go 25mm front/23mm rear. I was under the impression the Giro's were on the same level as the Rallys.

Between the Giro and the Yellow Jersey specials, which do you think is a higher quality tire?

Planet Cycle actually carries the Gatorskin Sprinters for under $50....which is surprising since that seems to be the going rate at the UK shops (which are always incredibly cheaper).
