Rebounds in your Sunday league and rebounds in the NBA are very different things though, aren't they? I would say those are far less objective than, say, average speed. Also, all of those come from competition. You can similarly judge your level in cycling by how you've placed in your previous competitions. I don't see why a recreational rider needs a metric, just like a pick-up soccer player probably doesn't keep track of his goal/assists tally.
