It's probably safest to either buy a Nexus phone (if I want to stay with Android) or buy an iPhone. That would minimize the headaches when they roll out an OS update.

It seems like other Android phone vendors add their own bloatware and apps (which you usually can't remove), which degrades the performance and in this case possibly created a BT problem.
