I've never bought a bike because I liked the color, but I've NOT bought a bike because I hated the color. My newest purchase (Sirrus) was a close call. It's a flat black with bright blue accent. I really don't care for flat black and the blue is a bit obnoxious. I wavered a bit, but the other choice is "Hyper Yellow" which is even worse (IMO). After a bit I decided to pull the trigger anyway. Flat black is ugly and shows every finger print.
My AWOL is an extra fine grained metal flake white. I never owned a white bike and wasn't sure I'd like it, but after owning one for a while it's become my favorite.
