Milo, if you're truly coming from zero experience. Dial in your preferred seat to handlebar position with seat to pedal distance pretty much fixed. Many folks who don't cycle much tend to have low seat positions as it's very awkward trying to sit on the seat and touch the ground. Seat height is set for riding not standing.
