I just moved to the USA from Europe...I am renting a place just 300 m from a grocery store and little mall, 2 miles from work, bus stop at 200 m and metro station (DC area) 15 min away on foot or 5 min by bus....Whenever I really need a car I'll rent it. My landlords are nice enough to let me keep the bike in the house garage and my boss lets me keep the bike in the office.
