These fit *snugly* over my shimano 48E shoes but they help out a lot. Main downside is that once they are on, it becomes very difficult to tighten the toe velcros on the shoe without a lot of finagling. But a hell of a lot better than freezing my damn toes in ~45-50F (before wind chill) rides and they seem to be doing OK at staying out of the way of the cleat.
