I very much enjoy wrenching, but I find the desire to wrench comes and goes. When a new frame comes in I generally can't wait or rest until it's built and rideable. Used to be I'd wrench till 3-4am if that's what it took, these days as I age I'll allow myself to span the work over 2 nights. And if something's broken or needs adjustment, I usually get to it pretty quickly.

Recently elective surgery is becoming a lower priority. Non-critical upgrades can take weeks/months to get around to. Yeah, I got some bar-cons in for xxxy, but...it can wait. Once I get started, though, I'm usually pretty happy.

What I'd say to numbskull is not to worry, not to rush it, it'll come back.
