There are crazies everywhere, but one of the nice things about living and riding in the NYC area is that people are in too much of a rush to create the kinds of issues people elsewhere do. Folks here may be aggressive, and sometimes pass closer than one might like, but all they care about is rushing to wherever they're going, and once past race off to the next "road block".

So on those rare occasions (and yes, they are rare) I get some PIA driver behind me, I simply move over a bit and create a passing opportunity and they're off, moving out of sight and out of mind.

Also our higher traffic density works in my favor. Some drivers may resent bikes, but they KNOW that we're nothing compared to the trucks and buses, especially school buses, as far as slowing them down goes, so they're more willing to take us in stride.
